ESOL Teacher Aide

Burnside High School is seeking a motivated and caring ESOL Teacher Aide to join our ESOL Support team. This is a permanent, part-time position (15 hours per week, term time only), supporting English language learners to access and engage in their learning.
The successful applicant will work alongside teachers and the ESOL team to support students in the classroom and in small-group or individual settings. The role involves assisting students to develop their English language skills, build confidence, and participate fully in school life, while contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
We are seeking someone who is patient, flexible, and committed to supporting young people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and whānau is essential. Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are important.
Experience working with English language learners or supporting students with diverse needs would be an advantage, although training and support will be provided.
